4-H grant 002

Austin Middle School sixth grade students Senobia Howard, McKayla Mata and Larry Sizemore show the pillowcases they made with the help of Purdue Extension Educator Jackie Benham. The Austin Learning Center partnered with Purdue Extension to provide activities for students after school. Several students have already completed pillowcases and made jewelry. The next projects include making cards and personalized posters. These activities were made possible due to a $3,000 grant from the Scott County Community Foundation during the Community Grants Program to support youth development/educational programs. Applications for charitable programs are being accepted for the Community Foundation?s 2014 Community Grants Program.
