Center for Women and Families Receives Grant

The Center for Women and Families was awarded a $935 grant from the Scott County Community Foundation for printing and publications of brochures to raise awareness on domestic violence and sexual assault, and link victims with services. The organization was surprised with the news at a recent visit. Shown are Center for Women Director of Outreach Susan Selby, Scott County Family Advocate Libby Warren, Grants Associate Jessica Hazelwood and Scott County Community Foundation Chief Financial Officer Charlotte Boswell. “This grant award will allow us to increase awareness of the Center’s presence in Scott County so that victims are connected with services,” said Underwood. The Community Foundation awarded over $13,000 in grants this year, and will formally recognize recipients at the “Thanks4Giving” fall dinner on Nov. 13.
