YGC Hosts Successful Fundraiser

The Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council (YGC) 2011 Tennis Open was another successful event, announced committee chairperson Carmen Boley. The YGC is a program of the Scott County Community Foundation.
“At the 3rd Annual Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council Tennis Open, I’m happy to say the local YGC was able to bring in about a $700 profit,” reported YGC asset development committee chairperson Carmen Boley. “We had many people come out to play, and many were generous in donating, or buying, silent auction items. I was very happy with the turnout this year and would like to see more of our community come down next year. Thank you to everybody for all of your continued support! I can guarantee that the YGC will put the money to good use and give back to the youth in Scott County.”
The fundraiser supports the operations of the YGC. It was held June 17-18 at Scottsburg High School.
Event winners include: Men’s Singles, Tyler Jackson; Women’s Singles, Tammy Duvall; Men’s Doubles, Brent Walker and James Cruz; Women’s Doubles, Carmen Boley and Alexis Lucas; Girls Junior Singles, Carmen Boley; Boys Junior Singles, Isaac Everitt; Mixed Doubles, Brent Walker and Shawnee Bayes; and Junior Doubles, Brandon Boswell and Justin Wright. There were 29 participants.
