Family: I have been married for 18 years to John Howser.
We have two beautiful girls, Lauren (age 15) and Alexa (age 12). We live in Scott County - the county John and I both were raised in. John owns and operates Ace Carpet and Flooring and Scotts AceHardware.
Employment: I am an attorney who worked for four years
in the Corporate Law Department at Louisville Gas and
Electric Company; for 14 years
as a deputy prosecutor for the Scott County Prosecutor's Office; and am now Scott Superior Court Judge.
Activities/memberships/hobbies: I am a member of the
Indiana Bar Association and Scott County
Bar Associations. I am a past member of the Greater Scott County Leadership Class of 2000, the Scott County Family YMCA Board of Directors, and past Chairman of the Bright
and Beautiful Early Childhood Center Board of Directors. I currently serve on the Civil Benchbook Committee, recently having been appointed by the Chief Justice of the Indiana Supreme Court. I am a member of the local Phi Beta Psi Sorority, a sorority that primarily raises money for cancer research. I attend church at Northside Christian Church in New Albany. In my spare time, I love to travel with my family.
Why did you join the board?
I am very excited about joining the board so that I
can now give back to the community in a different way.
The Scott County Community Foundation will be a new
challenge for me and a new way for me to devote my
time and talents. I know that I will learn a great
deal also from this new experience and look forward to
working with the other board members and Community
Foundation staff.
