?Preparing for your annual audit?or not!? will be held Tuesday, Jan. 9 from noon until 1 p.m. at the Scott County Community Foundation, 60 N. Main St., Scottsburg. There is no cost to attend, and you are welcome to bring your lunch while you learn. The target audience is board members, executive directors wearing a financial hat, staff who may not be familiar with nonprofit financial reporting, or an organization doing an audit for the first time.

Shannon Borden has 18 years? experience in public accounting and is an Audit Director at Blue & Co., LLC in the Southern Indiana practice.? The majority of Shannon?s experience has been serving not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. She has a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Southern Indiana and currently serves on the Finance Advisory Committee for the Scott County Community Foundation and the Finance Committee for the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance. Shannon also is a member of the Firm?s Audit, Accounting and Quality Control Committee and leads the Firm?s Not-For-Profit Services Group.? Shannon has spent over 15 years of her career working with the community foundation industry and currently serves all of the firm?s 25 community foundation clients.? As part of her commitment to the non-profit and community foundation fields, Shannon has made several presentations sponsored by the Indiana Philanthropy Alliance and several other non-profit groups. Shannon resides in Scottsburg with her husband, Scott, and two children, Gavin and Addison.
