"Having just finished my first semester at Purdue University, I could not be more satisfied with or blessed by how it turned out! I love all of the simple things there – living arrangement, food, campus, athletics and study areas. Most importantly, I am so blessed to absolutely love the College of Agriculture, the professors, and the classes. I found that my Agricultural Sales and Marketing major as well as International Studies in Agriculture minor could not be more perfect for me. I have also joined clubs and organizations that I am so proud to be a member of and excited to continue serving others through them and others that I will soon join.
If there is one word I would use to describe this semester and my time at Purdue so far it would be opportunity. While I have always been one to search for and take advantage of opportunities, I am more than blessed to be at Purdue and in a college that offers endless opportunities to its students. The clubs that I am in have also offered me tremendous networking and travel opportunities as well. The biggest opportunity that comes to mind from this semester is the Purdue College of Agriculture Career Fair that all students were able to attend in search of internships and full-time jobs from over 130 companies that were present. From this experience, I was beyond blessed to receive interviews and internship offers from companies such as John Deere, Monsanto, and Dow AgroSciences. After much deliberation, I decided to intern with Elanco Animal Health in Greenfield, IN this summer – a dream that I have had since visiting and learning about the company last year as an FFA member.
With this opportunity and others that have been made available to me this semester, I realize that they would have not been possible had it not been for the financial support of this scholarship. Thank you to everyone involved in making my opportunities and education possible!"
