"The year 2011 designates many changes in my life.  Since earning a M.S. degree from Indiana University in May 2010, I have been preparing myself for medical school.  The application process, from studying for the MCAT to receiving notification from schools, can be over a year in length.  I am proud to say that beginning in August I will be a student at Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. 

I don't like to use the word dream, but rather goal.  Using the word dream makes it seem out of reach.  While at times going to medical school did seem a bit out of reach for me, the idea of pursuing a career as a physician never left my mind.  Every moment studying, hours of volunteer work, and sleepless nights of preparation all have culminated into this.  The destination has not been reached because I still have four long years ahead.  The good thing is that I'm still moving forward down the road."
