Jean Robbins presents a check for $2,653.44 to Scottsburg High School teachers Brittany Banister and Beth Walton. This is the first-ever grant awarded from the Kelley Robbins Endowment for Public Health at the Scott County Community Foundation. The permanent fund, which was created in memory of Jean’s husband, Kelley, provides support for his vision for a healthier community. Kelley always had a passion for public health and enjoyed serving his community.
The grant will be used to purchase two Real Care Babies, which provide students with realistic caregiving experiences. The infant simulator dolls offer hands-on learning that can help prevent child abuse and reduce teen pregnancy, while also preparing students for careers in early childhood education and child development.
Donations to the Kelley Robbins Endowment for Public Health are currently being matched 50 cents for every dollar donated.
