Scott County Community Foundation Board Treasurer Shari Baumann, second from left, presents a check for $469 to Scottsburg High School Principal Jeff Cox and Family and Consumer Science teachers Brittany Banister and Beth Walton. The grant was awarded from the Scottsburg High School Classroom Innovation Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation.
The SHS Classroom Innovation Fund was created by long-time Scottsburg educators Brady and Julie Wells to enhance classroom experiences for students and encourage teacher creativity. The grant will be used to purchase supplies for Real Care Babies, which provide students with realistic caregiving experiences. The infant simulator dolls offer hands-on learning that can help prevent child abuse and reduce teen pregnancy, while also preparing students for careers in early childhood education and child development.
