Scott County Community Foundation Board Chairperson Heather White presents a check for $5,901 to Humane Society of Scott County board member Kelley Barger. The grant was awarded from the Dr. William and Diann Scott Memorial Fund at the Community Foundation and will be used for medical care, spaying and neutering of cats and dogs at the animal shelter and cat adoption facility. The Humane Society was able to help almost 500 dogs and cats get adopted locally or sent to no-kill rescue partners to find forever homes. There are currently 35 animals at the cat facility and local foster homes that are patiently waiting for new homes.
