2022 Lilly Scholar Lara McGlothlin

“I have officially completed my senior year at IU Indianapolis! This year, I finished my coursework in biology, psychology, and neuroscience. Through each of these courses, I gained the scientific foundation that is necessary for medical school. Further, this spring, I was honored to receive the Top 100 Award and Outstanding Senior Award for academic excellence.

Beyond the classroom, I continued co-leading a weekly Bible study in Christian Student Fellowship. Additionally, I served as the secretary for the Pre-Med Club, and I also served as an Honors College peer mentor during the fall semester. It was also a privilege to serve as a volunteer with Child Life in the hematology/oncology outpatient clinic and Riley Hospital for Children throughout the academic year!

This spring, I graduated with my degree in Biology and minors in Health Psychology and Neuroscience. The past four years at IU Indianapolis have been incredible, and I am extremely grateful for the opportunities that I have had while studying at IU Indianapolis! Additionally, I am excited to share that I will be attending the Indiana University School of Medicine in Bloomington this fall! Ultimately, I hope to return to Southern Indiana to serve as a pediatrician in the local community!”
