Scott County Community Foundation Executive Director Jaime Toppe, far right, presents a check for $447 to Austin High School Baseball Team Coach Matt Bayes, assistant coaches and team members. The grant was awarded from the Dottie Shelhamer Memorial Fund. Matt is Dottie?s grandson and is beginning his first year as head coach. ?His Gram would have been so excited that he played for an incredible coach like Jeff Barrett and then took the position as head coach at a school she loved,? said Kathy Bayes, who established the Dottie Shelhamer Memorial Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation in memory of her mother, who taught and coached at AHS for 42 years.
