Scott County Community Foundation board member Janie Alexander, right, presents a check for $219 to Austin High School Academic Team Coordinator Vanessa Eldridge. The grant was awarded from the AHS Academic Team Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation and will be used for competition expenses. Austin High School will host the Academic Super Bowl on April 21, welcoming teams from more than 20 schools. This year marks both the 40th anniversary of the competition and the 40th consecutive year Austin has served as host. To celebrate this milestone, Austin will be recognizing past teams that advanced to the state level along with those who have contributed to the program’s ongoing success. In honor of the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary, this year’s theme is “The American Revolution.”

“We are proud to uphold this long-standing tradition and look forward to welcoming everyone next month,” shared Eldridge.
