Scott County Community Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of “Big Ideas, Lasting Impact,” a new proactive grant initiative made possible through unrestricted funding from Lilly Endowment Inc.
This new funding opportunity is designed to support large-scale, collaborative projects that address significant community needs and create long-term, sustainable impact throughout Scott County.
Through this grant initiative, the Foundation is seeking bold proposals that strengthen local capacity, improve quality of life, and deliver measurable outcomes that extend well beyond the initial grant period. Priority will be given to projects that demonstrate strong partnerships, thoughtful implementation plans, and a clear strategy for long-term sustainability.
“This initiative reflects our commitment to investing in transformational ideas that can create meaningful and lasting change in Scott County,” said Foundation Board Chair Ryan Payne. “We know our community has visionary leaders and organizations doing important work, and we want to help bring those big ideas to life.”
Unlike traditional grant opportunities that often focus on short-term programming, Big Ideas, Lasting Impact is intended to catalyze projects that can grow, endure, and continue benefiting Scott County residents for years to come.
Eligible proposals may include new community initiatives, expansion of proven programs, and collaborative projects that leverage additional resources. Organizations are encouraged to think creatively and submit ideas that will create lasting community benefit.
The minimum grant request is $20,000, and projects must benefit residents of Scott County. Grants may only be awarded for charitable purposes that meet legal and tax requirements.
Submission of a concept form does not guarantee funding or invitation to submit a full proposal; however, selected organizations may be invited to move forward in the process. There is at least $448,000 available in funding for this initiative. Applications are due Aug. 31 and available at www.scottcountyfoundation.org under the Scholarships and Grants menu.
