Scott County Community Foundation board member Janie Alexander, center, presents a check for $306 to Steve and Missy Sadler with Ride for a Cure. The grant was awarded from the Joyce Lowry Broady Memorial Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation. The permanent endowment fund was created in Joyce’s memory to assist local residents who are battling cancer with expenses related to their treatment. Ride for a Cure has assisted 75 local residents with funding since its creation. They are celebrating their 20th annual ride this year on Sept. 19 at Mid-America Science Park, and plan to help at least eight recipients this year.
“Joyce’s family truly appreciates the opportunity to help another cancer patient,” shared Steve Broady.
