Scott County Community Foundation Board Treasurer Chris Routt presents a check for $500 to Scottsburg Middle School teacher Erin Krieger. The grant was awarded from the Gladys A. Berna Education Fund at the Community Foundation, and will be used for an “Exploring the Community” project. Students will learn life skills such as traffic safety, making correct change, keeping the community clean, respect while in the community, and social skills while they take outings to Lake Iola, Beechwood Park and Ross Theater this fall. The Gladys A. Berna Education Fund was established to honor the legacy of “Miss Gladys,” who taught in Scott County for 38 years.
