Scott County Community Foundation board member Steve Gwaltney, far right, presents checks totaling $12,835.60 to Scottsburg United Methodist Church Lay Leader Pat Croley, Treasurer Donna Springstun, and Pastor Zachary Manton. The grants were awarded from the Ella Maude McCulloch Mission Endowment Fund, Hazel Gillespie Hunger Fund, Kathy Nicholson Mission Fund, Kathy Nicholson Music Fund, Robert and Margie Fawver Fund, SUMC Endowment Fund and SUMC General Endowment Fund, all held at the Community Foundation. The grants will be used for the church’s mission and programs. In 2022, the grants made it possible for SUMC to provide support to the Scott County Community Clearinghouse, The Refuge for Children, UMCOR, New Life International, Boy Scouts of America, CASA, CRADLE, Salvation Army, and Scott County Family YMCA, as well as assist other local individuals and programs.
