Scott County Community Foundation Board Treasurer Daniel Brunner, far right, presents checks totaling $15,862 to Scottsburg United Methodist Church Stewardship and Finance Committee member L.L. Lowry, Administrative Council Chairperson Steve Meyer, Missions Committee Chairperson Paula Baldwin, Church Treasurer Donna Springstun, and Pastor Zachary Manton. The grants were awarded from the Ella Maude McCulloch Mission Endowment Fund, Hazel Gillespie Hunger Fund, Kathy Nicholson Mission Fund, Kathy Nicholson Music Fund, Robert and Margie Fawver Fund, SUMC Endowment Fund and SUMC General Endowment Fund, all held at the Community Foundation. The grants will be used for the church’s mission and programs. In 2023, the grants made it possible for SUMC to provide support to CRADLE Family Resource Center, Scott County Family YMCA, Bree’s Blessings, Scott County Council Prevent Child Abuse pinwheels, ARC dinners and United Methodist Committee on Relief.
