Students with the Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council (YGC), a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, recently collected and personally donated 2,835 items and $45 for the Scott County Community Clearinghouse. This was the highest number of items collected in the 12 years that the YGC has participated. The collection was part of the Souper Bowl of Caring, a nationwide effort for churches, schools and the community to collect money and food near Super Bowl weekend, in order to fight hunger and poverty in local communities. The Clearinghouse assisted 985 individuals in January.
