The Scott County Youth Grantmaking Council (?YGC?), a program of the Scott County Community Foundation, is not letting COVID-19 slow them down on their fundraising plans. While they normally host an alumni basketball game fundraiser to kick off the rivalry basketball games during the week before Thanksgiving, this year the pandemic has changed things. This year, the YGC presents their 6th annual Thanksgiving Throwback Throwdown: COVID Edition fundraiser!

This fundraiser will be a donation competition, with the winning alumni teams getting their name on the traveling trophies. Anyone can donate in any amount for your favorite team. Businesses are encouraged to continue their sponsorships, and their logo will be featured on the YGC?s Facebook event page.

One hundred percent of proceeds will benefit the youth in Scott County. Donations can be made by mailing to the YGC at PO Box 25; Scottsburg, IN 47170, dropping off at the Community Foundation office, 60 N. Main St., Scottsburg, or using the Paypal account through the Community Foundation?s website, www.www.scottcountyfoundation.org. Please make sure you designate which team you want your donation to benefit. Please call 812-752-2057 or email info@www.scottcountyfoundation.org with any questions.

The donations are due by Nov. 24 if you would like to support the girls? teams, and by Nov. 25 if you would like to support the guys? teams. If Scott County?s status moves from orange back to yellow, we hope to offer fun activities during halftime at the high school rivalry games. Stay tuned for announcements on t-shirt sales to commemorate this unusual year!
