Marilyn Evans, Matthew LaMaster and Becky Snowden present a check for $500 to Oard Springs Community Center board member Ashley Stallings. The grant was awarded from the Nathan and Alice Bridge Memorial Fund at the Scott County Community Foundation, and will be used to assist with renovations and equipment. The Joyce Hamilton Oard Springs Community Center will celebrate the reopening of the historic one-room schoolhouse on Sunday, Oct. 19 from 2-4 p.m. It is located at 985 E. Oard Spring Road, Austin. Refreshments will be served.
The Nathan and Alice Bridge Memorial Fund is a donor-advised fund, which allows the family to recommend which charitable organizations to support. Matthew established the endowment fund in 2014 in memory of his grandparents, and the family enjoys choosing causes that their grandparents would have liked to support.
